Defense dominates the night for the Lady Jacks

WARREN, Ark. – After last week’s rainout, Stuttgart came to town to face the Lady Jacks. The Lady Jacks entered the night with a 3-1 record for the season.

Warren’s Raeleigh Milton made quick work of the Lady Birds in the top of the 1st. Breize Fellows led off with a double, and although Warren loaded the bases, they failed to score.

In the top of the 2nd, Stuttgart managed to pick up a hit, but the Warren defense swiftly shut them down. Presley Reep walked to start the inning, but Warren failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

Pitching and defense remained strong in the top of the 3rd as Stuttgart went down in order. Unfortunately, the Lady Jacks fared no better in their half of the inning.

The Lady Birds mounted a threat in the top of the 4th, but the Lady Jacks’ defense ended it. Paige Byrd and Presley Reep reached base for the Lady Jacks but were ultimately left stranded.

Raeleigh Milton threw only three pitches to retire the side in the top of the 5th inning. Breize Fellows singled to lead off the inning, followed by a Haven Johnson RBI triple. Bayleigh Miller then had an RBI single to score Johnson, giving the Lady Jacks a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Jacks’ defense once again held Stuttgart to a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 6th. Raeleigh Milton doubled to lead off the inning, and Blythe Calloway followed with a walk. Haven Johnson drew a one-out walk to load the bases. Ember Johnson then picked up two RBIs with a double. Warren added two more runs in the inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead into the final inning.

The Lady Jacks, led by Raeleigh Milton, finished strong with a 1-2-3 inning to secure the 7-0 victory.

For the Lady Jacks, both Breize Fellows and Bayleigh Miller had two hits each. Ember Johnson and Raeleigh Milton contributed doubles to the offensive effort.

Raeleigh Milton earned the win, pitching a two-hit shutout while striking out four and walking one.

Next up, the Lady Jacks will travel to Crossett to take on the Lady Eagles tomorrow evening.
