William Henry Hines, Sr., 1945-2024

William Henry Hines Sr., 79, of Warren, passed away March 23, 2024. Born February 3, 1945, to the late Clary and Ivie Hines. 

On June 11, 1966, William was joined in Holy Matrimony to Essie Mae Hines and to this union three children were born.

William obeyed the gospel under the leadership of Wallace Williams and on his spiritual journey he found a love for teaching the gospel of Christ. He went to many places to minister including Fordyce, AR., Star City, AR, Hampton, AR, and Lake Providence, LA. He also became the minister of School St. Church of Christ in Dermott, AR, where he served for 30 plus years until retiring in 2023. He was employed with Potlatch Corp. for 39 years. In his free time, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson and was an active member of the Wolfpack MC of Warren, AR.

William was also preceded in death by five siblings, Jo Ann, Dellie Mae, Carolyn Joyce, Willie Earl and Ester Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Essie Hines; three children, William Hines Jr. (Kawanda), Aaron Hines (Teresa), Regina Hines; two sisters, Carolyn Simmons, Lorrain Brunson; eight grandchildren, Dexter Hines, Chris Hines, Candace Hines, Kimari Hines, Erika Barbee (Justin), Tawanta Donley (Ezell), Kawanta Ortiz (Daniel), Robert Marshall (Teilor); fourteen great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held March 30 at West Central Church of Christ in Warren with Rev. Jamie Rochell officiating and Rev. Wayne Edwards eulogist. Burial was in Weary Rest Cemetery in Marsden. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
