The Rotary Club of Warren met for its weekly meeting Tuesday, April 9 at First Methodist Church. The club heard from Junior Rotarian Mahiya Payne of Warren High School to begin the meeting. Next week, Junior Rotarian Mya Casler will present.
The gathering then transitioned to the program of Rotarian Robert Milton, who introduced Roger George of Merchants & Planters Insurance Agency. George spoke at length about the current state of the insurance industry in Arkansas and across the nation. Insurance premiums are going up around the country and in the state. He also touched on different types of coverage for car insurance including a 25/50/25 policy, which is the minimum coverage in Arkansas. He then talked about the benefits of getting more than a 25/50/25 policy for just a few more dollars per month. George also spoke about several insurance companies in Arkansas that have closed and mentioned that several other companies have seen their ratings drop. The crowd then had several questions for George to end the program.
