WARREN, Ark. – In a gripping soccer showdown on Tuesday, the Warren Lumberjacks faced off against Star City in a non-conference match that ended in a draw. Despite the game being against a 4A East Conference opponent, it was a fiercely contested battle from start to finish.

The Lumberjacks entered the match with an impressive 5-0 record in the 4A East Conference and a solid 7-3 overall standing. However, this game would not contribute to their conference record.
The first half witnessed a real battle unfolding in the midfield, with both teams vying for control. Warren’s Jacarlos Marquiz created several scoring opportunities, coming close to putting Warren ahead in the 25th minute, only to see his shot saved. He had another significant chance in the 34th minute from a ball over the top, but his volleyed shot narrowly missed the target, leaving the scoreline at 0-0 going into halftime.
The second half saw Star City breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute, taking a 1-0 lead. Warren responded with determination, nearly equalizing from a corner scramble in the 61st minute, but Daniel Castillo’s shot flew high. The breakthrough finally came for Warren in the 69th minute, courtesy of a beautiful low strike by Marquiz, leveling the score at 1-1.
As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read Warren 1, Star City 1. With this result, Warren’s overall record now stands at 7-3-1.
Looking ahead, Warren is set to face Crossett in one of their final two Conference games of the season on Wednesday.
