The Lady Jacks made the trip to Star City to take on the Lady Bulldogs in what turned out to be their final scheduled road game of the regular season.
In the top of the 1st inning with one out, Haven Johnson earned a base on balls for Warren, but the team couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity. Star City seized the momentum, scoring 4 runs on 4 hits to surge ahead with a 4-0 lead.
Despite Presley Reep’s single with two outs, Warren couldn’t convert it into runs. Star City added another run, leading 5-0 after two innings of play.
As the game progressed, the Lady Jacks faced challenges. In the top of the 3rd with runners on 2nd and 3rd and just one out, a thunderstorm interrupted play.
Resuming the action on April 25, Star City extended their lead with 2 more runs, making it 8-0 after the 3rd inning.
The Lady Jacks faced a tough inning, going down 1-2-3 in the top of the 4th. However, their defense stepped up, keeping the Lady Dogs from scoring in the bottom of the 4th.
In the top of the 5th, Natalie Hargrave ignited hope with a leadoff single, followed by Raeleigh Milton’s walk with two outs. Despite this, Warren couldn’t capitalize on these opportunities, leaving the runners stranded. Star City closed the game with 2 more runs, solidifying their 10-0 win.
Looking ahead, Warren’s next challenge awaits in the AAAA Regional Tournament at Nashville on Thursday, May 2, at 3:00, where they will face either Nashville or Malvern.
