Sheridan Team Wins Warren Ladies’ Golf Tournament

We published an article about the Warren Ladies’ Scramble on July 17, 2024. However, that article was a past article which was accidentally sent to SRC. Here is the corrected article for this year’s tournament:

The team of  Teresa Williams and Emma Hester of Sheridan shot two under par 70 to win the First Flight of the Warren Ladies’ Scramble Wednesday, July 10, at Warren Country Club.  The team of  Sonia Barker and Shelley Impsom of Smackover  placed second with one under par 71.  The team of Sharolyn Givens of Norphlet and Kay Hardin of El Dorado won third place with 77.   Players from Camden, El Dorado, Fordyce, Hot Springs, Monroe, LA, Monticello, Norphlett, Sheridan, Smackover, and Warren competed.

In the second flight the team of  Pat Grimes and Cynthia Reyenga of Prescott won first place.  Diane Goodman and Jean Williams of El Dorado placed second, and Faye Lewis and Sherri Carson from Monticello were third.    

The third flight winners were Nancy Vittitow, a home team, and Hannah McDougald of Monticello; and second was the team of Vicky Stewart and Karen Spears of Hot Springs.  Placing third were Ronda Bolin of Hot Springs and Teresa Echols of Monticello.

Emma Hester won the prize for the longest drive on No, 8 and for closest to the pin on No. 4. Lisa Higgins of Warren won the prize for the ball closest to the line on Hole No. 8. Lisa Higgins and Libby Mann co-chaired the event.  Glenetta Burks, Felecia Doster, and Nancy Vittitow chaired various committees.

Sponsors of and contributors to the tournament included Arkansas Superior Federal Credit Union, First State Bank, Union Bank, Warren Bank, and the Mater Patch Marketplace.

Members of the Men’s Golf Association provided carts for the event.  Joe Burks,  greenskeeper, with his staff,  was in charge of the course.  Christy Simmons, Club Manager, provided food and food services.
