Barbara Jean Temple, 1946-2024

Barbara Jean Temple age 77, of Queen City, Texas, died in the Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas on August 3, 2024. She was born September 25, 1946 in Bradley County, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Clifton “Tim” Savage and Ona Beatrice Baker Savage. Barbara was a housewife, loving mother, homemaker and a wonderful cook. She loved her family, loved to read and loved to travel and camp with her husband, James. She and James made many precious memories traveling and fishing all over the United States and Canada. When they were at home they enjoyed visiting with family and playing cards. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Texas and was very strong in her faith.

Preceding her in death was her husband, James H. Temple whom she married November 9, 1968; two grandsons, Joey Temple and Jim Doug Ederington; sister, Liz Gates and brother, Charles Savage.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann Breashears and spouse Larry Breashears of Atlanta, Texas, Tricia Temple of Chipley, Florida and Verna Walker of Shell Knob, Missouri; two sons, James K. Temple and spouse Machelle of Johnsville, Arkansas and Ted Temple of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Betty Rial of Wilmar, Arkansas and brother, Mike Savage of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Five grandchildren, Christopher Breashears and spouse Sydnee of Atlanta, Texas, Matthew Breashears and spouse Kristin of Atlanta, Texas, Misty Vickers and spouse Lance of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Jennie Ederington of Floresville, Texas and Joshua Olson of San Antonia, Texas and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. August 7, 2024 at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
