WARREN, Ark. – On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the Warren City Park was buzzing with excitement as Union Hill Baptist Church and St. James AME Church joined forces to host a community-wide Back-to-School Bash and Celebration. The event, spearheaded by organizer Chanelle Hopper, brought together various local organizations and churches to support students as they prepared for the upcoming school year, which started Monday morning, August 12.

The event featured approximately 16 different booths and tents, each offering free school supplies to children of all ages. The supplies ranged from paper, pencils, crayons, and notebooks to folders, backpacks, and more, ensuring that every student left with the essentials needed for a successful school year.
In addition to Union Hill Baptist Church and St. James AME Church, other community members, including Immanuel Baptist Church, the National Guard, the Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club, Mainline Health Systems, and HopePlace Warren, played a vital role in the event’s success. Each group set up booths, contributing to the wide array of supplies and resources available to attendees.
The event also included food for all participants, adding to the festive atmosphere. The large turnout of students and their families underscored the community’s commitment to supporting its youth as they head back to school.
