UAM Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth After Day One of Central Region Fall Preview

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women’s Golf team opened the 2024-25 season on Tuesday in the Central Region Fall Preview at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri. The Blossoms closed out day one of the tournament tied for fifth place alongside host, Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The Blossoms shot a combined score of 308, 20-over par. Augustana (SD) finished atop the leaderboard after day one at 8-over par (296). Fellow Great American Conference member Henderson State sits in third as the highest-ranked team in the GAC. Arkansas Tech and Minnesota State trail the Blossoms in seventh place at 22-over par (310).

Incoming freshman Tori Milton led the Blossoms in the opening round of the tournament, finishing the day tied for 11th place at 2-over par (74).  

Senior Shehna Akbary finished 4-over par (76) and is tied for 17th.

Sophomore Natalie Van Dort and Sophmore Mekdes Rozas closed out the first round sitting tied at 41st, shooting 7-over par (79).

Sophomore Ximena Paz rounded out the first day of the tournament. Currently tied for 80th, sits at 12-over par (84).

Akbary, Van Dort and Rozas recorded six birdies for the Blossoms on day one of the tournament –  Akbary and Van Dort each recorded one, while Rozas finished with four. 

The Blossoms will play their final round of the tournament on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.
