STUTTGART, Ark. – The Stuttgart Ricebirds rolled to their second straight win of the season, defeating Central Arkansas Christian (CAC) 41-7 Friday night at Ned Moseley Stadium. A dominant performance led by quarterback Cain Price and wide receiver De’ontae Clark saw Stuttgart put the game away early, cruising to a comfortable victory.
Stuttgart opened the scoring in the first quarter when tailback Jawyan Terry broke free on a 23-yard touchdown run, giving the Ricebirds a 7-0 lead after Dawson Mckelvey’s successful extra point.
The Ricebirds extended their lead in the second quarter, as Price connected with Clark on a 2-yard touchdown pass on fourth down. Mckelvey’s PAT made it 14-0 with 8:43 remaining in the half. Price and Clark struck again later in the quarter, this time on a 43-yard touchdown pass to send Stuttgart into halftime with a commanding 21-0 advantage.
In the third quarter, the Price-to-Clark combination continued to dominate. They connected twice more—once on a 4-yard pass and then on a 41-yard screen pass—stretching Stuttgart’s lead to 35-0. Mckelvey added two more extra points, and with the sportsmanship rule in effect, the running clock began.
CAC managed to break through in the fourth quarter when quarterback Connor Taylor found Brody Vantilborg on a 13-yard slant for a touchdown. Maxwell Pullen converted the extra point, but Stuttgart’s lead was insurmountable at 35-7.
The Ricebirds capped off the night with a late 2-yard rushing touchdown by Chance Clark as time expired, sealing the 41-7 victory.
Stuttgart (2-0) will host Malvern next Friday, September 13, while CAC (0-2) will look to bounce back at home against Harding Academy.
