Week three of the Arkansas high school football season is here, with some South Arkansas teams taking a bye week, but there’s still plenty of football on tap. Here are some key matchups to look out for:

Saline River Sports Game of the Week: Star City at Lake Village

The Star City Bulldogs, under Coach Chris Norton, have come out strong this season, with back-to-back wins over Dumas and McGehee. Now, they travel to face Lakeside (Lake Village), aiming for a perfect 3-0 start. The Bulldogs have put up an impressive 59 points in two games and are looking to continue their dominant early-season form in this 8-4A vs. 8-3A matchup.

DeWitt vs. McGehee

The DeWitt Dragons (2-0) are hosting the McGehee Owls after a convincing 35-7 victory over Jacksonville. McGehee, on the other hand, looks to bounce back following a tough loss to Star City last week.

Bearden vs. Mount Ida

Haskell Harmony Grove at Jessieville

Mineral Springs vs. Quitman

Hamburg vs. Magnolia

Monticello at Dumas

The Monticello Billies, fresh off a win against Bauxite, face off against the Dumas Bobcats. The Billies will look to notch their second win after an opening loss to Fordyce.

Hampton vs. Two Rivers

8-Man Division

In 8-man football action, Woodlawn faces Guy-Perkins, and Hermitage squares off against Cedar Ridge, with both matchups providing exciting opportunities for local football fans.
