BANKS, Ark. – The annual Buck Fever Festival will once again feature a Venison Chili Cook-Off this year, inviting competitors from across the region to test their chili-making skills for a chance to win cash prizes. The event, scheduled for November 2, 2024, promises to bring heat to the festival with $100 awarded to the first-place winner and “hot prizes” for the top three contestants.
The cook-off, a highlight of the Buck Fever celebration, encourages participants to bring their best venison chili, with judging based on taste, aroma, appearance/color, and consistency. All entries must be dropped off by 4:00 p.m. at the event, with the winner to be announced at 5:45 p.m.. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Buck Fever Festival.
Contestants must submit their application and entry fee by October 29, and teams are required to check in upon arrival. Those interested in participating can find applications on the Buck Fever Facebook page under the forms section.
Whether you’re competing or just enjoying the chili, there will be live music following the cook-off, making it a fun-filled evening for everyone. For more information, participants can message Erynn Danley through Facebook.
