A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy Imogene Taylor age 88 of Warren, passed away peacefully October 31st. She was born in Hermitage, Arkansas, on March 7th, 1936, to Carl Edward Parnell and Florence Gorman Parnell. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Doyle Clyde Taylor, parents, brothers James (JW) Parnell, Cecil Parnell, sister Cindy Booker and daughter in-law Kaylon Taylor.
She leaves behind two sons that cherished their sweet Mother Jerry Taylor (Sonya) and Jimmy Taylor. Three grandchildren that she adored -Meagan Fenters (Jayson), Brittany Martin (Shaun) and Kevin Taylor (Anna Kate). Great grandchildren Miles, Hattie and Ollie Fenters, Cayson, Natalie and Bryce Martin, Shepherd Taylor.
She graduated from Hermitage High School Class of 1954 where she was a competitive basketball player for the Hustlin Hermits.
Dorothy loved the Lord and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She faithfully enjoyed serving weekly at the Clothes Closet Ministry at the Church.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She spent countless hours attending her grandchildren’s activities from ball games to dance recitals. She was their biggest fan and loved supporting them. Her favorite pastime was spending treasured time with her beloved husband. She also enjoyed working in her flowers and was known for her wonderful cooking. Dorothy was a loving person and a friend to everyone she met.
Our Mother leaves us as a Legacy and the best Mother two sons could ask for. She will be greatly missed and we look forward to being reunited with her in our forever Heavenly home one day.
Graveside service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery with Shaun Martin officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jayson Fenters, Shaun Martin, Cayson Martin, Bryce Martin and David Gorman
Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Kerry Pennington, Donny Parnell, Kevin Taylor, Jeff Patrick, Gregory Patrick, Tracy Patrick, Chris Booker and Michael Parnell.
