Lyle Douglas Sullivan, 1958-2024

Lyle Douglas Sullivan, adoringly known as Paw to his grandchildren, age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2024. He peacefully passed away at home, holding the hand of his loving and devoted wife. He was born January 21, 1958 to the late Loyce Eugene and Janice Sullivan. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and often fondly reminisced about his younger days teaching the boys’ Sunday school class. Doug was the proud owner of Sullivan Construction where he excelled as a skilled carpenter and contractor. He found great joy in building homes and undertaking renovations of courthouses, banks, and other large-scale projects. Doug was an avid hunter who found joy in sharing his love for the outdoors. He treasured his family and had a zest for life. He was known for his big personality and always being the life of the party. 


Doug was preceded in death by his father, Loyce Eugene Sullivan on August 15, 2015. 


He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife Gena, who he married April 18, 2003, his children, who will forever value the profound impact he made on their lives, Skye Clanton (Randy), Emily Vickers (Ethan), Randy Burt (Stacia), Wesley Hollingsworth (Kaina); And his beloved grandchildren, who were the pride of his life, Rhett Douglas Clanton, Westin Clanton, Casen Clanton, Nolan Vickers, Madison Vickers, Bentley Burt, Sophie Burt, Stella Burt and Maggie Burt; His loving mother Janice, and two brothers, Tony Sullivan (Phyllis) and Bruce Sullivan, with whom he shared a childhood full of mischievous adventures and unforgettable memories. Doug also leaves behind his extended family, including his in-laws, Kenneth and Olga Trussell, Gerald and Rita Bickers, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, whom he always kept laughing, and a host of friends, as he never met a stranger, and his friendships extended far and wide.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Melvin Mills, Wesley Hollingsworth, Kip Reep, Kay Reep, Noe Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Gary Thornton and Lucas Vickers. Honorary pallbearers were Elbert Miller, Freddie Mobley, Tim West, Jerry West, Hugh Allen Quimby, Clay McKinney, Tony Sullivan, Bruce Sullivan, Kenny Trussell, Richard Bickers, Little Randy Clanton, Randy Burt and Ethan Vickers.
