Karlos ‘Pookie’ Clifton, 1982-2024

Karlos ‘Pookie’ Clifton, 42, of Warren, passed away November 30, 2024. Born August 18, 1982, to the late Wallace and Verna Clifton. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Robert Cunningham. 

Karlos was a graduate of Warren High School, class of 2001, and was active in football and basketball. He was employed by Potlatchdeltic and worked for Georgia Pacific in Fordyce, AR, Georgia Pacific in Crossett, AR,

Canfor Southern Pine in Strong, AR, before returning to Potlatchdeltic in November 2024. He was a keen hunter, loved the outdoors just like his dad. He enjoyed spending time with the apple of his eye, his daughter, Kaylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, the late Johnnie and Mable Thomas, Emma Willams and James Clifton, George and Georgia Hampton.

He is survived by his daughter, Kaylee Clifton; sister, FeNetria Clifton; niece, Khadijah Clifton; great nephews, Kaelen Smith, Khylen Smith; great niece, Justyce Bell; a heartfelt friend, Latoya Atkins; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A legion of childhood friends (from boys to men), Sam Crowell, Earnest Newton Jr., Bryant Stallings, Mario Partman, Markeia Jamison, Anthony Atkins, Bilaal Neal, Terrence Jones and Johnny Jones.

Funeral service was held December 7 at Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Marsden with Elder Terry Correll eulogist and Rev. Kelsey Highsmith pastor. Burial was in Weary Rest Cemetery, Marsden. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
