Sarah Wood Atkins age 91, of Banks, AR died Saturday, December 7th 2024 at her home. She was born June 22nd, 1933 in Lindale, TX a daughter of the late Edward Amos Wood and Lonnie Hickman Wood.
Sarah was a graduate of the Sparkman High School, a housewife and homemaker, and a member of the Banks Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Billie Gene Atkins whom she married October 25th, 1952 and he died September 12th, 2006, a daughter Nancy Carol Anderson, a brother Robert A. Wood, and sisters Ruth Dunn, Lena Dale Hickman, Patsy Ruth Samuels, Doris Elizabeth Richardson, Willie Mae Jarman and Juanita Fay May.
She is survived by sons, Mike Atkins, Daryl Atkins and a daughter Janice Dunn all of Banks, AR.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2:00PM Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial was in Sparkman Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. The graveside service was held at 4:15pm Thursday afternoon at Sparkman Cemetery, Sparkman, AR. Memorials preferred The St Jude’s Children Hospital or Carti of Arkansas.
