Janice Faye Sloan, age 64, of Warren, AR, passed away on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, at U.A.M.S. in Little Rock, AR. She was born on March 30, 1960, in Little Rock, AR, a daughter of the late Floyd Porter and Janette Temple Porter. Janice was a dedicated employee of the Warren Public Schools for many years and was a charter member of Lighthouse Church. She also attended Antioch Baptist Church and Living Waters Church in Hermitage. A woman of strong faith, Janice loved the Lord and lived her life in devotion to Him. She was at peace and ready to meet her Savior, finding comfort in her unwavering belief. She is survived by her husband, Michael Sloan, whom she married on June 24th, 1978; a son, Wesley Sloan of Navarre, Florida; and a daughter, Kristy Hurd and spouse Matt of Powellville, Maryland. She is also survived by a sister, Jane May, and spouse Danny of Warren, AR, along with her five grandchildren: Brecken Hurd, Brenna Hurd, Axton Sloan, Zeke Sloan, and Tegan Sloan. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: Mindy Castleberry, spouse Bart, and children Mayli and Jake; Jana Robertson, spouse Cody, and children Kelby and Mattie; and Cassie Hoskins, spouse Michael, and children Addison and Zoey. She is also survived by her close cousins Verlene Evans and spouse James, and Marshall Reynolds, as well as a host of beloved friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 17th, at Frazer’s Chapel, with Rev. Michael Gardner and Rev. Larry Edwards of El Dorado officiating.
