Warren Fights Back to Secure 2-1 Comeback Win Over Estem

WARREN, Ark. (3-14-25) – Daniel Castillo’s second-half goal lifted Warren past Estem 2-1 in a hard-fought conference match at Jim Hurley Jr. Stadium Thursday night.

After a stalemate early in the first half, Estem struck first in the 27th minute against the run of play. Warren quickly responded in the 29th minute, equalizing on a penalty kick by Jacarlos Marquez after an Estem defender tripped a Lumberjack inside the penalty area.

Goalkeeper Jessie Cortes made a critical save for the Lumberjacks in the 47th minute, stopping a goal-bound Estem free kick. Marquez nearly gave Warren the lead in the 57th minute, but his far-post shot was tipped away by Estem’s keeper.

The decisive moment came in the 67th minute when Castillo’s initial shot was saved but ricocheted back onto him, deflecting into the corner to give Warren a 2-1 lead.

The Lumberjacks hung on for the victory, improving to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
