Warren urges residents to recycle cardboard and paper

WARREN, Ark. – The City of Warren is encouraging residents and businesses to increase recycling of cardboard and white paper in an effort to lower garbage disposal costs.

The city operates two drop-off locations for cardboard and white paper: one beside the Fire Department on Myrtle Street and another on the north side of the Senior Citizen Center on North Ethridge Street.

Residents are asked to separate cardboard and plain paper before drop-off. Paper may be shredded and placed in garbage bags. For large amounts of cardboard, residents can arrange for pickup by calling the sanitation department at 870-226-5860.

Mayor R. Gregg Reep and Sanitation Manager Rob Johnson stressed that increased recycling could reduce disposal costs and help prevent future garbage rate increases.

For recycling information, call 870-226-5860.
