Emma Jean Hamilton, 1946-2025

Emma Jean Hamilton, 79, of Dallas, TX., formerly of Harrell, AR, passed away July 22, 2025. Born February 23, 1946, to Sandy and Eva Preston.

Emma graduated from Hermitage High School in Arkansas. After graduating, she attended Job Corps in McKinney where she finished as a Cosmetologist. She later moved to Milwaukee, WI. and started working at Milwaukee County as an environmental specialist until she retired in 2007. Emma loved going to the casino, traveling and visiting with friends and family. She had a great sense of humor.

Emma was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing bible study over the phone.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy and Eva Preston; one son, Vincent Hamilton; great granddaughter, Anayah Somerville; two sisters, Louis, Linda Preston; seven brothers, Lonnie Preston, OC Preston, LC Preston, Jewel Preston, Hosie Preston, Lee Ester Preston and Clydine Preston.

She is survived by her son, Billy R. Hamilton of Mesquite, TX.; one sister-in-law, Lola Preston of Harrell, AR; two granddaughters, Lakeya Coleman, Dayjah Thomas both of Milwaukee, WI.; three grandsons, Brenton R.,

Bryce R. Hamilton both of Mesquite, TX., Kamarion Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ.; one great grandson, Chozen Thomas of Milwaukee, WI.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held August 9 at First Baptist Church in Harrell, AR with Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
