MONTICELLO – The Warren Tennis team traveled to Monticello on Thursday evening, battling hard in a competitive outing. While the team fell short in five of its ranked matches, the players hit the ball well across the board and secured three ranked victories against strong opponents.
Senior Bayleigh Miller earned a 6-3 win in singles play, while the duo of Anna Arroyo and Ava Denton claimed a 6-3 doubles victory. In addition, the undefeated pair of Livi McKinney and Avery Wharton continued their strong season with a 6-3 win in No. 2 doubles. The pair remain unbeaten this year, while Arroyo and Denton hold just a single loss.
Warren also picked up several exhibition wins. Presley Reep and Denton won 6-1 in doubles, Adair Gonzalez and George Pena paired for a 6-4 win, and Cale Vance pulled out a close 7-5 victory. Other wins came from Arroyo and Faith Strong (6-1), Natalee Harmon (6-2), and McKinney and Wharton (6-3).
The Saline River News Player of the Match honor went to senior Cale Vance, who notched his second straight 7-5 win. After falling behind early, Vance fought back to secure the hard-earned victory, demonstrating resilience and determination.
