Born and raised with a steadfast spirit and generous heart, Joyce built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Doy Adams and Rex Hall, both of whom she loved deeply throughout her life. Joyce was a devoted mother to her daughters, Beverly Young (Bill Young) and Melinda Ashcraft (Brian Ashcraft), who were the pride of her life. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Jean Byars and Patsy Turner, and her niece, Becky York, with whom she shared a special bond. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren – Adam Jennings (Sierra), Laine Young Bowman, Cammie Raney (Shawn), Cody Young (Tresa), Clayton Ashcraft (Emily), and Wesley Ashcraft (Haley) – and her great-grandchildren – Landon Jennings, Jaxson and Justis Raney, Brooks, Parker, Dax, and Lexi Bowman, Parker Arnold, Carson Young, Aly, Levi, and Wade Ashcraft, Waylon Ashcraft, and Bennett Smith – all of whom she cherished, doted on, and proudly bragged about.

Joyce found joy in the simple, meaningful moments – cross-stitching with careful hands, fishing on peaceful days, and most of all, loving on her grandchildren every chance she got. Her kindness, laughter, and gentle strength will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Her favorite scripture, Isaiah 40:31, reflects the strength and faith she carried throughout her life: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Funeral Services were held November 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. Burial in Union Cemetery at Rye by Frazer’s Funeral Home.

Joyce’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to brighten the lives of all who loved her. The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to Chapel Woods Health and Rehabilitation for the wonderful care and compassion they extended to Joyce and her family.
