LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Those dreaming of a white Christmas in Arkansas will need to keep dreaming this year.
According to the National Weather Service office in Little Rock, the chances of snow on the ground across Arkansas on Christmas Day in 2025 are effectively zero. Forecasters say high pressure is expected to dominate the region, bringing unusually warm conditions instead of winter weather.
NOAA meteorologists indicated that widespread high temperatures in the 70s are possible across much of the state around Christmas. Historically, Arkansas already faces long odds when it comes to white Christmases, with the average probability of at least one inch of snow on the ground on Dec. 25 being less than 10 percent.
A graphic shared by the National Weather Service highlights how rare Christmas snow is across much of the southern United States, including central and southern Arkansas, compared to northern and mountainous regions.
While snow lovers may be disappointed, the forecast points toward mild holiday travel conditions and spring-like weather for much of the state as Christmas approaches.
