WARREN, Ark. – Christmas and New Year’s break for students in the Warren School District will officially end this week, with students returning to class on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Students remain out of school through Tuesday while teachers complete professional development days on Monday and Tuesday. When classes resume Wednesday, it will also mark the beginning of the third quarter of the school year.
Parents are encouraged to begin transitioning back into school routines ahead of Wednesday, including adjusting bedtimes, confirming transportation arrangements, and preparing students for a full return to classroom instruction following the extended holiday break.
Several school-related events are also scheduled throughout the week. On Monday, junior high and junior varsity basketball teams will travel to DeWitt, with games beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday’s action features senior high basketball at home, as the Lumberjacks host Arkadelphia with girls and boys games starting at 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, junior high and junior varsity teams will play at Monticello beginning at 4:30 p.m. That same day, report cards will be handed out to students, giving families an update on academic progress as the new quarter gets underway.
Friday includes senior high basketball at home against Bauxite, with games scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. Friday is also the regular registration deadline for the February ACT.
To close out the week, Warren band students will participate in All-Region Auditions on Saturday at Sheridan Middle School.
With the holiday season now behind them, this week signals a return to normal schedules for Warren students and families as the district moves forward into the second half of the school year.
