HERMITAGE, Ark. — The Dollar General store in Hermitage is closed Sunday morning due to ongoing winter weather conditions, according to a statement from store management.
In a social media post shared Sunday morning, store manager Hisonni McKnight said the decision to remain closed was made out of concern for employee safety as icy conditions continued across the area.
“Good morning Hermitage, I hope everyone is staying safe and warm,” the post stated. “Unfortunately, the Dollar store will not be open at this time. I will provide updates if I am able to open at a later point today, potentially for a few hours. The safety of my team is priority.”
McKnight indicated that updates would be provided later in the day if conditions improve enough to allow the store to open.
The Hermitage Dollar General serves as one of the primary retail locations for residents in the area, particularly during winter weather events when travel options may be limited.
Area officials continue to urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel while freezing rain and icy road conditions persist.
