WARREN, Ark. — In the midst of icy road conditions and winter weather challenges, coordinated teamwork among local and state agencies helped ensure a critically ill patient received lifesaving care.
Bradley County Medical Center (BCMC) publicly thanked those involved after a patient was successfully airlifted despite the hospital’s helipad being inaccessible due to ice. With air transport still urgently needed, responders worked together to clear a roadway landing zone so a medical helicopter could safely land and transport the patient.
According to BCMC, the effort highlighted what can be accomplished when agencies collaborate under difficult conditions. Emergency responders cleared a section of roadway to serve as a temporary landing zone, allowing the helicopter crew to safely complete the transfer.
Pafford Air One later shared video from the scene, crediting Emergency Ambulance Service Inc., ARDOT, the Warren Police Department, and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in clearing the roadway and securing the landing area. The helicopter’s crew noted that the coordinated response helped ensure the patient received critical care without delay.
BCMC expressed appreciation to everyone involved, emphasizing that the response served as another example of how teamwork becomes especially vital during severe winter weather events.
As icy conditions continue to impact the area, we encourage residents to remain cautious and recognize the behind-the-scenes efforts of emergency personnel working to keep the community safe.
