WARREN, Ark. — Colton Steen’s buzzer-beating putback capped a wild finish Tuesday night as the Warren Lumberjacks edged the Monticello Billies, 53-51, in one of the most thrilling games of the season at Lumberjack Arena.

With the win, Warren improved to 3-11 overall and 2-2 in Conference 8-4A play.
The Lumberjacks set the tone early, jumping out to a 10-3 first-quarter lead behind the hot hand of Tayshawn Edwards. Edwards sparked the opening run with back-to-back baskets, including a three-pointer that energized the home crowd.
Warren continued to build momentum in the second quarter, with Bleyze Fellows providing a steady offensive lift. Fellows scored seven points in the period and knocked down a key three that pushed the lead to 19-8. Behind balanced scoring and strong interior play, the Lumberjacks carried a 26-21 advantage into halftime.
The game tightened in the second half, and the fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle. Monticello surged late, using a 7-0 run to take a 47-44 lead and put the pressure squarely on the home team. Warren answered with poise. Josiah Steen delivered timely baskets down the stretch, while Zaydin Grider added crucial points to keep the Lumberjacks within striking distance.
With the score tied at 51-51 in the final seconds, Fellows got a look from the corner, but the shot didn’t fall. Colton Steen was first to the ball, grabbing the rebound and immediately putting it back up at the buzzer to seal the dramatic two-point victory and send the Warren bench and crowd into celebration.
Colton Steen led the Lumberjacks with 14 points, while Fellows finished with 13. Josiah Steen and Grider each added nine points as Warren saw five players contribute meaningfully on the scoreboard in a complete team effort.
Warren will look to carry that momentum into its next outing Friday night on the road at Watson Chapel.
