Star City Pulls Away in Second Half to Defeat Warren, 73-56

WARREN – The Warren Lumberjacks battled early but could not keep pace down the stretch Tuesday night, falling to the Star City Bulldogs 73-56 at home.

With the loss, Warren moves to 3-13 overall and 2-4 in 8-4A Conference play  .

The game opened with energy on both sides as Colton Steen scored the first basket to give the Lumberjacks a quick 2-0 lead. Star City responded with a 7-point run midway through the first quarter to seize momentum, but Warren answered behind Bleyze Fellows. Fellows poured in 7 points in the opening period, helping the Jacks stay within striking distance at 21-17 after one.

Warren continued to execute offensively in the second quarter. Aceen Jurado knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished with 10 points on the night. Steen added 4 points in the period as part of a 15-point performance, while Fellows consistently found openings in the Bulldogs’ defense. Despite the individual efforts, Star City used a late 13-point surge before halftime to extend its lead and create separation.

In the second half, the Lumberjacks leaned on their top scorers. Fellows led all Warren players with 18 points, adding two rebounds and a block. Steen contributed 15 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Jurado’s 10 points provided a steady perimeter presence.

Tayshawn Edwards added 4 points and a block.

Star City was led by a balanced attack and strong outside shooting, connecting on 10 three-pointers in the contest. The Bulldogs finished with 73 points to secure the conference victory.

The Lumberjacks will look to regroup Friday when they travel to Crossett for another 8-4A matchup.
