WARREN — The City of Warren’s transition to a new citywide garbage collection system continued this week as GFL Environmental began rolling out new equipment for local businesses.
Alongside the start of residential garbage pickup earlier this week, GFL has now begun bringing commercial customers online with new green dumpsters. Warren Sanitation Manager Rob Johnson said the first of the commercial dumpsters have already started arriving in the city.
GFL trucks were seen in Warren on Wednesday morning delivering the new green dumpsters. The rollout marks another step in the city’s transition to having all garbage pickup services handled by GFL Environmental, which is operating out of El Dorado.
The delivery and placement of commercial dumpsters is expected to continue as more businesses are integrated into the new system in the coming days.
