Richard K. Gilbert, 68, of Nashville, TN., passed away April 1, 2026. Born April 3, 1957, to the late Carnice and Girtie Mae Gilbert. He accepted Christ at an early and was faithful in attendance at True Christian Pentecostal Witness Church, under the leadership of Apostle Robert Shipp in Nashville, TN. He was a member of Watson Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor John Faison Sr. in Nashville, TN.  Richard did not care what the name of the church was, if you were praising Jesus Christ, he wanted to be a part of it. He believed in praising God and lifting up the name of Jesus.

Richard married the love of his life, Debra Ann Gilbert, to this union one daughter was born Author Latasha Davis “Diamond In The Rough” of Conway, AR.

Richard served in the United States Army and was deeply proud of his time in the military. He loved sharing stories from his service, often reflecting on those experiences. One thing that truly upset him was seeing someone wear a military hat without having served, he never hesitated to speak up and tell them to remove it. He carried a strong respect for his country and for his fellow servicemen.

You could not be sad in Richard’s presence. No matter what he was going through he found something positive in every situation. He would tell his daughter, “You are going to have some bad days. Always, Keep God First and pray.” He was so proud of his daughter and grandkids. He always ended his conversation with “I love you!”
