The breakthrough finally came in the 13th minute when Hamburg struck from distance, blasting a nearly 40-yard free kick into the back of the net to go ahead 1-0.

Garcia was called into action again in the 16th minute, making a low fingertip save, and followed it up with a diving punch-away in the 21st minute to deny another Hamburg opportunity.

Warren’s first real attacking threat came in the 26th minute. Winger Joshua Romero chased down a chipped ball over the top, beating the Hamburg left back, but his shot found the outside netting.
