FELSENTHAL, Ark. — The annual Felsenthal Bream Festival is scheduled for Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, bringing a weekend of family activities, tournaments, live entertainment, food, and community events to south Arkansas.
Festival organizers are promoting the event as “fun for the whole family,” with activities including a bream fishing tournament, vendors, bingo, live music, a turtle race, horseshoe tournament, pageant, baggo tournament, car show, and ATV and side-by-side parade.
Events will begin Friday, May 22, with vendor setup starting at noon, including merchandise vendors, food vendors, and a rib cook-off. Bream Tournament registration will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while crawfish sales are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until sold out.
Baggo registration is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the tournament beginning at 8:00 p.m. Organizers noted there will be an intermission during the baggo tournament for attendees to watch the parade.
The Side-by-Side Parade lineup is set for 8:30 p.m., with the parade beginning at 8:45 p.m. DJ K.D. and karaoke entertainment are also planned beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Festival activities will continue Saturday, May 23, beginning with Bream Tournament registration at 5:00 a.m. at the big ramp. The rib cook-off will begin at 6:00 a.m., followed by the Bream Tournament from 6:00 a.m. until noon.
Additional Saturday events include a car show from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Miss Bream Fest Pageant at 10:00 a.m., turtle race registration at noon with races beginning at 1:00 p.m., and a horseshoe tournament starting at 2:00 p.m.
Bingo is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., and organizers said winners will be announced after each event.
Live entertainment will conclude the festival Saturday night with The Dirty Porch Band performing from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.
