The Current Draws Strong Early Response From Saline River News Readers

WARREN, Ark. — Saline River News’s new email newsletter, The Current, is off to a strong start after launching last week as another way for readers to receive local news directly.

The newsletter was created to give readers a more reliable connection to local news, especially as social media platforms continue to decide what posts appear in users’ feeds. While Saline River News will continue to share stories on social media, The Current offers a direct path to readers who want local headlines, community updates and important news delivered straight to their inbox.

“We are very thankful for the strong response from readers during the first week,” Saline River News owner Rob Reep said. “The goal of The Current is simple. We want to make it easier for people to stay connected to local news without having to depend entirely on social media algorithms.”

The newsletter is expected to be sent about once per week and will include a selection of top local stories, community news and other important updates. Additional emails may be sent when major breaking news or urgent community information needs to be shared.

Saline River News recently launched The Current after investing in improved newsletter technology. The site previously offered an email newsletter, but the new version is designed to be more reliable and easier for readers to use.

Readers can subscribe for free to The Current by using the signup form on the Saline River News front page or the signup form located below each article.
