MONTICELLO, AR — The community is invited to attend the 2nd Annual Monticello Juneteenth Festival on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Monticello Townsquare for an afternoon of celebration, culture, music, education, and family fun honoring the significance of Juneteenth.
The celebration is hosted by the NAACP Drew County Branch. Clarissa Pace, President, stated, “We are excited to continue making history in Monticello. We are very grateful to have a wonderful city that supports the celebration with open arms and assistance. ” Last year, Monticello became the only city in Arkansas where the Juneteenth flag was flown with the United States Flag and the Arkansas Flag at city hall.
This year’s festival will feature a special guest performance by the world-renowned Racy Brothers of Dumas, Arkansas, known for their dynamic gospel and soul-inspired sound that has inspired audiences across the nation.
Attendees will also enjoy music from DJ LaLa on the 1s and 2s, along with additional live entertainment, food vendors, community booths, and activities designed for all ages.
A featured attraction of this year’s festival is the Special Juneteenth Kids Korner, providing engaging and family-friendly activities for children throughout the event.
In addition to the festival celebration, organizers will host a Juneteenth Commemoration & Flag Dedication Ceremony on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. on the Monticello Townsquare. The ceremony will include special remarks from guest speaker Clarence Thornton, also known as “JC Love,” of the JC Love Morning Show in Little Rock, Arkansas.
As part of the commemoration, Juneteenth commemorative flags will be flown on the Monticello Townsquare throughout the month of June in honor of freedom, heritage, and community unity.
Organizers encourage residents and visitors to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a day filled with culture, entertainment, and community fellowship.

About Juneteenth
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. The holiday celebrates African American freedom, resilience, culture, and progress while encouraging reflection, education, and unity.
