Vickie D. Thompson, age 69, of New Edinburg, AR saddled up and made her last ride on Wednesday, June 03, 2026, as she peacefully departed heading to greener pastures. She was born on October 18, 1956 in Pulaski County, AR to the late Willie and Audie Johnston.

Vickie professed Jesus as her Savior and was ready to go home to her Lord. Vickie was employed for over 30 years as a Lab Tech at The National Center for Toxicological Research which is the FDA’s premier toxicology research facility located in Jefferson, AR.

Vickie will be remembered for her immense compassion, generous heart, and a lifelong devotion to animals. Whether it was raising, riding and showing horses or simply sharing the couch with her beloved pets, Vickie loved being surrounded by her four-legged friends.

To cherish the many wonderful memories, she leaves behind her devoted husband James “Randy” Thomspon. For Vickie, a great day would start with a hot cup of coffee while watching the early morning sun with Randy and would end with them side by side on the porch watching the sun set after a day well spent with each other. She also leaves behind a brother, Billy (Linda) Johnston of McRae, AR and a very special nephew, Larry Jones of Texas. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Leon and James McMurtry and sisters Velma (Griffin) Henley, and Jean Jones.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 05, 2026, at Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. with Bro Brandon Evans officiating. Burial will be at Reaves in New Edinburg, AR. Active Pallbearers are Jeremy Grider, Delbert “Boo” Moring, Dakota Moring, Rusty Bryant, Charlie Bowden, and Vester Thompson. Honorary Pallbearer is Ronnie “Red” Raff.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bradley Animal Rescue Coalition, so that Vickie’s love for animals can continue to touch the lives of others.
