Area children received free school supplies during a back-to-school event held Saturday, July 25, at the Warren City Pool.
The event, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., helped local families prepare for the upcoming school year by providing students with needed classroom supplies at no cost.
Several organizations and community resource providers also set up booths during the event, giving families an opportunity to learn about programs and services available in the area.
Southeast Arkansas Local Lead was among the participating organizations. The group shared free early childhood resources and childcare information for families with children from birth through age 5. Southeast Arkansas Local Lead serves Ashley, Bradley and Drew counties.
Families visited the different booths, collected school supplies and spoke with representatives from participating organizations throughout the event.
