Warren City Council Approves Lease for New Grapple Truck

The Warren City Council approved the lease of a new grapple truck during a special called meeting Tuesday afternoon, citing the time-sensitive nature of the purchase.

The meeting was held at the Warren Municipal Building with council members Chanel Hooper, Emily Moseley, Joel Tolefree and Latanza Atkins in attendance. Mayor Gregg Reep called the meeting to order.

The special meeting was called to address the city’s grapple truck, which is used to collect limbs, brush, junk and other bulky debris throughout Warren. City officials said the lease on the current truck has expired, making it necessary to move forward with a replacement.

Council members were informed that the best leasing option was through Commercial Bank of Warren.

Councilman Joel Tolefree made a motion to trade in the city’s current grapple truck and lease a new one. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Latanza Atkins.

The measure passed unanimously by a 4-0 vote.
