Town of Banks Unveils New Seal

The Town of Banks has unveiled a new municipal seal designed to highlight several pieces of the community’s history and identity.

The town announced the new seal Sunday on its Facebook page, crediting Mrs. Leah Via with creating the design.

“Our new City Seal created by Mrs. Leah Via. After almost 120 years it was long overdue,” the town stated in the announcement.

The circular seal prominently displays “City of Banks” and “Arkansas,” along with a banner marking the community as established in 1907.

At the center of the design is a wooded Arkansas scene featuring a whitetail buck, a flowing stream and stacked timber, reflecting the area’s natural landscape and timber heritage. The seal also includes a banner recognizing the Buck Fever Festival, one of the community’s best-known annual events.

An outline of Arkansas with a star marking the community’s location is featured near the bottom of the seal.

Banks was established in 1907, meaning the community is approaching its 120th anniversary. The new design gives the town a formal seal incorporating several symbols closely associated with Banks and the surrounding area.
