Chances for meaningful rainfall remain elevated across Bradley County and much of Arkansas heading into the weekend, with the National Weather Service showing a good possibility of more than an inch of rain before early Monday.
According to the latest probabilistic rainfall outlook from the National Weather Service in Little Rock, Bradley County has roughly a 60 to 64 percent chance of receiving more than one inch of rainfall through 7 a.m. Monday, October 5.
The chances of considerably heavier rainfall are lower. Most of Bradley County and the surrounding area currently has less than a 40 percent chance of receiving more than two inches during the same period.
Rain chances are expected to increase considerably beginning Thursday and remain elevated through the weekend. The National Weather Service notes that the probability of at least one inch of rain is around 60 percent or higher across much of Arkansas.
The greatest chances for heavier rainfall currently appear to be across the western third of the state, where probabilities for more than two inches are substantially higher. South Arkansas, including Bradley County, remains outside the area with the highest probabilities for heavy rainfall.
The outlook is probabilistic, meaning the percentages represent the likelihood of reaching the listed rainfall amounts rather than a prediction that every location will receive those totals. Rainfall amounts could vary considerably from one community to another depending on where heavier showers and thunderstorms develop.
