Saline River News has completed the major maintenance work that has been underway on SalineRiverNews.com, and the site should now be operating normally for readers.
The changes were made in large part to address an issue some readers experienced in the past in which older or “stale” versions of the website could occasionally appear instead of the latest content. The work completed should eliminate those problems and help ensure readers are receiving the most up-to-date version of Saline River News when they visit the site.
Some visitors may need to refresh the website once when they return. After that initial refresh, new stories, updates and other content should appear normally without readers having to repeatedly refresh their browser.
Readers who still use the former SalineRiverChronicle.com domain should also see forwarding to SalineRiverNews.com restored within the next few hours, though in some cases it may take up to 24 hours.
The improvements should also ensure that SRN’s automated weather reports are delivering the latest available information as it is updated, giving readers access to current weather information without older reports remaining on the site.
Readers should notice another improvement as well: speed. Changes made behind the scenes are expected to help SalineRiverNews.com load considerably faster and provide a smoother experience whether visiting from a phone, tablet or computer.
The updates should also make SRN’s POST TO SRN reader submission feature even more reliable. We strongly encourage readers, schools, churches, civic organizations, community groups, businesses and individuals to use it.
If you have news, an announcement, an upcoming event, a sports update or something happening in your community that you would normally post on social media, post it to SRN too.
