Santa Claus is scheduled to make a two-day visit to the New Edinburg Community Center on December 18 and 19 as the community prepares for the Christmas season.
The upcoming visits were announced by Melody Spears during Re-New-ing Edinburg’s October 20 meeting.
During that meeting, members approved a $750 donation to the community center to help purchase gifts for Santa’s visit. The motion was made by Treasurer Roger McClellan and seconded by Vice President David Kemp.
McClellan also reported that FBT Bank had contributed $500 to support the organization’s Halloween activities and December Santa visit.
In additional holiday preparations, Re-New-ing Edinburg members previously approved an expenditure of $804.78 for Christmas lights needed in December, with the Wagons expected to purchase the lights.
The visits are scheduled for Friday, December 18, and Saturday, December 19.
