Crossett hands Lady Jacks a conference loss Tuesday afternoon

WARREN, Ark. – Coming off spring break, the Warren Lady Jack Softball team(4-1) hosted the Crossett Lady Eagles (2-6) Tuesday evening, March 29, 2022, falling by the final of 9-2.

Crossett took a 1-0 lead after two errors and a walk.

The Lady jacks tied it in the second inning. Macy Jarvis singled with one out. Paige Byrd followed with an infield single and Jacy Ashcraft delivered a two-out RBI double.

The Lady Eagles retook the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Following a Warren error, Crossett’s Lana Carter delivered an RBI double. Moments later Carter scored on a passed ball. Crossett led 3-1.

The Crossett defense used a diving stop by the second baseman on a hard hit ball by Jacy Ashcraft to prevent the Lady Jacks from scoring in the bottom of the fourth.

Crossett added to their lead in the top of the fifth inning, scoring two more runs to take a 5-1 lead.

Anna Grace Bolland had a one-out double in the bottom of the fifth. With two outs, Luci Woodard had an RBI double. Warren still trailed 5-2.

The Lady Eagles’ bats came to life in the top of the sixth inning. Six hits scored four runs giving Crossett a comfortable 9-2 led.

Alyssa Higgins pitched seven innings. She struck out ten while giving up six hits. The Lady Jack defense committed six errors.

For the Lady Jack offense, Anna Grace Bolland, Luci Woodard, Macy Jarvis, Paige Byrd, and Jacy Ashcraft all had hits.
