Facing one of the best teams in 3A, the orange and black of Warren nearly found the opening goal in the seventh minute. Aaron Romero ripped a shot destined for the top shelf left corner, however Harding Academy’s keeper made a sensational save to keep things at 0-0.

The Wildcats turned the tide of momentum two minutes later with the games opening goal in the ninth minute. A Harding Academy forward made one Warren defender miss and then toe-poked a shot past Warren’s keeper.

They would get another in the thirteenth minute from a stunning bicycle kick off a corner. Probably the goal of the season so far that we’ve seen.

The Jacks nearly pulled a goal back in the twenty-third minute. Jose Garcia pulled the trigger on a shot that just went whiskers wide and high. The shot curled, but didn’t have quite enough rotation on it.

Harding Academy led 2-0 at the halftime break.

Garcia picked up a yellow card in the forty-ninth minute. His departure really changed the game. Just three minutes later the Wildcats tacked on a third goal. They were in total control at that point and added a further three goals to win 6-0 at full-time.

The Lumberjacks next host Little Rock Mills Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at home at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium.
