Doc Washburn announces gubernatorial candidacy

The Doc Washburn for Governor campaign proudly announces the candidacy of Doc Washburn of Little Rock in the state-wide Republican gubernatorial primary on May 24, 2022.

Washburn, 66, formally filed as a candidate in the Republican primary for Governor on February 25, 2022. He was the longtime host of a popular conservative radio talk show in central Arkansas until he was fired for refusing the company’s vaccine mandate.

Washburn advocates for smaller government, individual liberty, and self-reliance. He’s widely known for opposing state and federal covid mitigation policies, challenging the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, and rejecting vaccine mandates. He opposes abortion, chemical gender change for minors, the use of Critical Race Theory in public schools, and child welfare workers taking children from parents who love them. He supports gun rights and affirms the rights of veterans. He has proposed the elimination of the personal income tax, small business income tax, and the tax on all used goods, including vehicles.

Washburn earned national recognition as a frequent guest host for syndicated talk radio host Mark Levin. He has been the host of The Doc Washburn Show, a podcast with an international following, since October 2021.

Washburn and his wife Peggy live in Little Rock, where they attend Covenant PCA Church.
