The Rotary Club of Warren met for its weekly meeting Tuesday, April 26 inside the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church. The group heard from Junior Rotarians from Hermitage (Elizabeth Warren) and Warren (Colton Satterlee, Klayton Dunaway, and Aidan Weaver) before Rotarian Marnette George presented her program. George’s program was Pink Tomato Festival Chairwoman Brooke Hatch. Hatch went over a list of events planned for the 2022 Pink Tomato Festival, which is scheduled for June 4-11. The festival is returning to a mostly full lineup of events after not being able to do as much the last two years due to COVID-19. Boots Bailey & the Boys are the entertainment on the Main Stage Friday night while the headliner for this year’s festival is David Lee Murphy on Saturday, June 11. Hatch went on to explain how planning for the festival is basically a year-long process that begins at the completion of the previous year’s event. She thanked the rest of the Pink Tomato Festival Committee and also gave a brief history of the event that began in the 1950’s. She closed by answering a few questions from the crowd.
