Bradley County Chamber of Commerce board members discussed several upcoming projects at their monthly meeting at Bradley County Economic Development Corp. on Monday.
It was announced that the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival recently was awarded entry into the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame with a trophy presented.
A Downtown Network grant of $3,000 was received. Leah St. John said many of the city banners needed to be replaced and showed several samples. The grant funds may be used to replace some poles and banners.
Changes needed on signature cards for bank accounts at First State Bank and Union Bank were discussed but no action was taken.
Board Chairman James Wells said he was in the process of setting up a Chamber membership directory online. It will be linked to the Chamber website.
Board member Terrie White said Hearth and Meadow Realty will have a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 3. Doug Thornton of The Redneck Gourmet and Daniel (Peanut) Robinson, who is operating a deer slaughterhouse, will have ribbon cuttings later.
Special Events Chairwoman Deb Spencer said she helped with the Kids Zone at the Bradley County Fair. On Oct. 30, Tent or Treat will be held downtown with candy for children, free hot dogs, a taco truck, tamales for sale, Snow Mountain snow cones, a hayride and many more activities.
Bradley County Christmas Parade will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 with Santa available for pictures afterwards at the former Martin’s lot. A live Christmas tree, a marketplace and stories with Mrs. Claus will be at the lot on Dec. 11 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Market on Main will be sponsored by the Chamber from 8 a.m.-noon Oct. 9, with 15 vendors available. For more information, contact Terrie White at 820-1915.
Bradley County Historical Museum will hold its annual Hamburger Supper from 4:30-6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the museum.
The annual Chamber meeting will be held on Nov. 8 at BCEDC. New board members and officers will be installed at that time.
A Nominating Committee was established with board members JeNelle Lipton, Terrie White and Deb Spencer.
Because Columbus Day falls on the regular meeting date, the next board meeting will be held on Oct. 18.
