Vega nets one goal in Lady Jack loss to White Hall in season opening match

WHITE HALL, Ark. – A second half goal from Leslie Vega was not enough to overcome White Hall, as the Warren Lady Jacks dropped their opening match of 2022 on the road to the White Hall Bulldogs by the final of 5-1.

Warren’s back four, led by center back Bailey Herring, played a terrific opening few minutes of the first half. Herring would clear a ball nearly off the line in the thirty-first minute to keep things all square at 0-0. White Hall found the net just five minutes later however. A lose ball in the box clattered around and finally found its way in to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. They pickup up another just before the midway point to lead 2-0.

Head Lady Jack Soccer Coach Cody Jones made a few halftime adjustments. Herring moved forward into an attacking position. The move paid off as a shot from the senior in the forty-second minute was blocked, but not cleared. Warren’s Leslie Vega was there to slot it home from just outside the six-yard box.

However, White Hall regained their two-goal advantage not long afterward. The Bulldogs went on to add two more before the final whistle to defeat Warren 5-1.

The Lady Jacks are 0-1 on the season after the loss. They will take on Hot Springs Thursday on the road at 5:00 p.m.
