Maycell Clanton Boykin age 91 of Johnsville, AR died Monday, July 24, 2023 peacefully at her home. She was born September 8, 1931 in Vick, AR a daughter of the late Elmon Clanton and Ollie Lowry Clanton. She was for many years an assistant administrator in the nursing home industry, a graduate of the Vick school system and a member of the Palestine Methodist Church.
Maycell was also preceded in death by her husband, Reece William Boykin; daughter-in-law, Karen Boykin; niece, Twyla Conville and great-grandchild, Abby Boykin.
She is survived by her sons, Buddy Boykin and spouse Mary, Johnsville, AR, Rodney Boykin and spouse Rita, Johnsville, AR, Timothy Boykin and spouse Sherry, Star City, AR. A sister Helen Clanton Peters, Johnsville, AR. 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.Funeral service was 2:00PM Thursday, July 27 at Palestine Methodist Church with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Buddy Boykin officiating. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
