Leo Davis, 1947-2023

Leo Davis, 75, of Banks, passed away August 4, 2023. Born September 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Ben and Maggie Lue Davis. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Oakalone AME Church under the leadership of Pastor English.

He married the love of his life Shirley Mae McDonald on March 7th, 1998. The couple cherished 25 wonderful years together.

Leo was a proud member of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a beloved employee at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for 39 years.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle and dear friend.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ever Bea, Poney Lee, Nora Bea, Bennie Lee, Oscar Lee and Lein Chester Davis.

Leo is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis of Banks; beloved niece, Carolyn Davis of Banks; 10 children; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was August 11 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Banks. Burial was in Hall Cemetery, Banks. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
