Raney has operated his store for 33 years. In recent years, a major remodeling effort was assisted by Make Warren Shine and resulted in his two-story building housing 65 individual vendors.

The building dates from the early days of Warren and was remodeled in 1928 by Martin Moseley. Harry Ashcraft worked for him and created Ashcraft’s Furniture and Hardware, running it until his death.

Raney leased the building for 12 years and bought it from Pat Ashcraft in 2006.

About 20 downtown merchants threw Raney a surprise luncheon at El Ranchito on Thursday as a thank you for his hard work and dedication to Warren’s downtown.

Randall’s Antiques and More will open soon at its new location with 18 booths.
